ONE in SIX
people suffer from PHOBIAS.
Phobias are Irrational Fears.
They can be as a result of learned behaviour or are a symbolic focus of an anxiety deep  within the sub- conscious mind.

Agoraphobia (a fear of being away from home) is probably the most common phobia.
Claustrophobia (a fear of being trapped or enclosed) is also very common.
Some  estimates  suggest  there  are  10 million  sufferers  in  the UK

What causes Phobias = Anxiety = Fears?
The simple answer is you doThe symptoms get stronger as we continue to repress the emotions in our life, first you would just feel anxious or tearful then over months and even years the pattern would progress, anxiety attacks - stomach churning - panic attacks - insomnia - phobias would get stronger and finally depression sets in.
From  a  very  young  age  we  are  told  not  to  cry  or  show  our  feelings  when we have up- setting experiences, so we learn to push any upsetting situations  into the  subconscious  part  of  our  mind  and  conveniently  forget  them. The  emotion connected to those experiences is repressed too and it can cause anxious feelings.
Over  the  years  we continue to repress our emotions, the anxiety  gets stronger as more and more  emotion  is  repressed  until  there  is  an emotional trigger. This  can be a bereavement, redundancy, failure of  a  marriage / relationship  or  business  or  just stress.
The symptoms get stronger as we continue to repress the emotions in our life, first  you would just feel  anxious  or  tearful  then over  months  and  even  years  the  pattern would progress, anxiety attacks - stomach churning - panic attacks - insomnia  -  phobias would  get  stronger and finally  depression  sets  in. Other's  could  suffer  flashbacks  or  find  thinking  or  talking  about certain  aspects of their  lives difficult without feeling emotional or even breaking down in tears.

Repressed Emotion = Depression and Anxiety

The Treatment. If repressed  emotion  is  the  cause, then  it would follow that if we release the repressed emotion then the depression and anxiety will be removed as well. Unfortunately someone suffering with depression or anxiety can't remember consciously what it is upsetting them, but their subconscious knows exactly what memories are still upsetting them, so with the help of hypnosis we ask it.
Hypno-Analysis. Combines Psychotherapy and Hypnosis and is used to discover the original cause of psychological problems. Every effect (your symptoms) must have a cause; once this cause is revealed, it is removed, bringing consequent relief from the symptoms.

Combining psychotherapy with hypnosis:
rapid results can be achieved in a few weeks, usually 6 to 12 sessions, depending on the severity of the symptoms. The therapy allows us to ask the subconscious mind what is troubling it and it starts to recall all the memories that are the cause of the depression and anxiety.
As the memories are recalled all the emotion connected to those memories is released.

People  will  avoid at  all  costs  the  focus  of  their phobia, as far as possible. For some it is easy, whilst for others  it may  not be  so  easy, depending  upon  the  occurrence  of  the item  they fear in their life.
Of course it will depend upon the severity of the fear reaction, if it  is  low t hen  you maybe able to tolerate the presence if not the close contact of the  subject of your fears. Others may not be able to tolerate seeing an image on  television  or in a magazine.
At its worst  you may be forced to change jobs, move house even  become  a  prisoner  inside  your  own home. A social  phobia may stop you eating  meals  in  front of  other  people, or prevent you speaking in public or totally withdrawing from social life.
